Kissing is a very important and intimate part of communication between the sexes. But what a man enjoys in a kiss may be unpleasant for a woman.
According to a new study, women prefer long kisses, while men prefer wet ones.
American psychologists say that a kiss is not so much a merging of souls as an expression of individuality.
“Women use kissing to evaluate their potential partners and to strengthen their emotional connection with them,” says psychologist Susan Hughes (Albright College, Pennsylvania). “And men view kissing as a way to increase their partner's sexual arousal.”
Psychologist Hughes and her colleagues surveyed over a thousand people to determine their attitudes toward kissing. It turned out that women are unnecessarily concerned that their poor kissing skills will turn off their boyfriends. Men admit that even if a woman is a poor kisser, it won't affect their desire to have sex with her.
Men generally believe that kissing is an invitation to intimacy, no matter how long a couple has been dating. Men especially enjoy wet kisses. The exchange of saliva during a kiss is interpreted by men as a sign of their partner's willingness to share their bed.
