It looks like Bridgerton season five will see some of the action move beyond London's Tonbridge to Scotland. The reason? A new couple will be at the center of the plot of the next season of showrunner Jess Brownell's costume drama. And no, it's not the love story of Eloise, played by Claudia Jesse. Instead, the focus is on Francesca, the character played by Anna Dodd, who recently lost her husband, and Mikaela (Masali Baduza), the beloved cousin of her late husband John Stirling.

Netflix confirmed the news with a romantic teaser featuring the heroines against a backdrop of misty mountains and dense forests. The streaming platform also announced that a new season is already in production.
The official description for the next episode reads: “The fifth season of Bridgerton focuses on middle daughter Francesca. Two years after the loss of her beloved husband John, she decides to re-enter the marriage market for pragmatic reasons. However, when John's cousin, Michaela, returns to London to take care of the Kilmartin estate, Francesca's complex feelings force her to consider whether to stay within the bounds of rational choice or to listen to her own desires.”
