According to the official summary, Imperfect Women “delves into a transgression that devastates the existences of three companions spanning several decades.”
“This unique thriller examines themes of culpability and payback, affection and disloyalty, and the choices we make that forever change our paths,” the description details. “As the inquiry progresses, so too does the understanding that even the closest of friendships might harbor hidden truths.”

The majority of Imperfect Women’s scenes were captured in Southern California, notably in Pasadena, Santa Monica, and downtown L.A. Although Araminta Hall’s original novel of the same title is based in England, Washington, who also serves as an executive producer, advocated for filming the series in Los Angeles. Her intention was to create opportunities for local professionals in the aftermath of the damaging 2025 wildfires.

“It’s such a thrilling setting to present a narrative like this because when we envision Los Angeles, images of sunshine, dazzling lights, style, and allure come to mind,” Washington told The Hollywood Reporter in February of 2026. “Yet, there’s also a shadowy side with a rich history, where authenticity and heritage exist alongside the glamor. The culture and history here are very deep.”
Washington stated further, “Being able to film here in the wake of last year’s fires held great significance for both the city and everyone working on our team.”
