On March 11, the Lesya Ukrainka Theater hosted the event “Senses of the Present: A Culture That Supports.” This was the first event in the new season from the Kyiv International Economic Forum team: the event was intended to remind us that when reality tests our strength every day, it is culture that helps us maintain sensitivity and inner support.

At the Lesya Ukrainka Theater, a private discussion was held about the role of art during the war and those who are already shaping the cultural future of Ukraine today. The conversation was moderated by journalist Tetyana Goncharova, and the discussion was joined by director and People's Artist of Ukraine Dmytro Bogomazov, theater and film producer Oleg Kokhan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sense Bank Olena Zubchenko, and culture editor of Vogue Ukraine Dariya Slobodyanyk.

The main event of the evening was the screening of the tragicomedy “The Rose Tattoo” by Tennessee Williams. The production was the debut work for students of the Karpenko-Kary University – a new generation of actors that was formed during the war. This is the story of a woman who, after losing her husband, learns to live and love again. The performance immerses you in the atmosphere of the Italian diaspora in the USA in the mid-20th century – with their temperament, music and feelings beyond measure. And the acting of talented actors makes it especially insightful.

The main partner of the event was Sense Bank. The partners of the evening were L'Oréal and Vogue Ukraine.
