The World Fashion Weeks are over, which means that the fashion industry has already outlined the main guidelines for the upcoming season. Among them are several obvious favorites in the color palette. Along with the invariable winter black and brown, eggplant comes to the fore – a deep, rich shade that appears on the catwalks in various interpretations. Dark, but at the same time refined and original, it also has a historical touch of luxury: in ancient times, purple dyes were so valuable that they remained the privilege of imperial courts and the clergy. Today, this noble range – between purple and red-violet – forms the key palette of the autumn-winter 2026/2027 season and begins to declare itself in the collections already in the spring.

The coat, one of the key pieces of the autumn-winter wardrobe, takes on a deep purple hue this season. A cooler, blue-tinged eggplant appears in leather coats from Celine and Burberry, as well as trench coats from Sportmax, Prabal Gurung and Tory Burch. Some brands also offer total looks: for example, Akris combines a “fluffy” coat with a sweater and leather skirt in the same tone, creating a monochrome look that goes beyond the usual autumn-winter solutions.

Dresses are another obvious way to bring the color to the runway. Options include more subdued styles, like Carolina Herrera's voluminous dress with a full skirt. Halternecks and asymmetrical silhouettes are among the most popular choices. Gucci works with tulle, Prabal Gurung with velvet, while Ferragamo and Central Saint Martins rely on sheer fabrics for more sensual looks. The most unexpected interpretation comes from 7 For All Mankind, bringing back the indie sleaze aesthetic: a strapless minidress, tight black tights and platform shoes.

Another variation of the purple range, which returns in fall 2026, is a red-purple hue. It has less blue and more magenta – this is the tone that Chloé recently showed. In a more minimalist interpretation, Marina Moscone and Alejandra Alonso Rojas use it, presenting satin slip dresses. In the total look format, Michael Kors offers strapless dresses combined with leather gloves, high boots and a fur cape. And Mugler translates this shade into a more utilitarian aesthetic – in the form of a fitted cargo jacket and pencil skirt.
