On February 24, for the fourth year in a row, Ukrainians around the world are marking a date that will forever be associated with pain, injustice, and loss. The international community also remembers the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In a special way, the residence of the Prime Minister of England in London at 10 Downing Street emphasized their affection for Ukrainians – the door of the house was decorated with a willow wreath created by the Ukrainian studio Pepperose, based in London.

The wreath was created by Yulia Borysenko, founder of the Pepperose studio. It was based on willow branches, with buds and shoots, and blue and yellow flowers, such as hyacinths, which became the embodiment of the colors of the Ukrainian flag. “I created this composition with a sense of deep memory and quiet hope. February 24 is a difficult date for all Ukrainians, so I wanted to convey a sense of light, unity and faith in life through colors and plants,” Yulia says about working on the wreath, noting that willow in Ukrainian culture is a symbol of home, protection, memory and resilience.

The residence's Instagram account instead emphasized that the wreath is “an act of remembrance and solidarity, underscoring the importance of further recognizing Ukraine's suffering and courage in the face of Russian aggression.”
