The film by Ukrainian journalist and director Mstislav Chernov covers the first 20 days of the siege of Mariupol during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February-March 2022. Chernov, along with photojournalist Yevhen Maloletka and producer Vasilya Stepanenko, were the only international journalists who remained in the city, documenting the horrific events and war crimes. These materials became some of the first evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops and were distributed around the world.
