Was Taylor Swift Up for an Award for Life of a Showgirl at the 2026 Grammys?
Ultimately, Taylor did not secure any nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards. She launched her latest record, *The Life of a Showgirl,* on October 3, 2025, which was outside the Recording Academy’s timeframe for eligibility.
Why Was Taylor Swift Not Nominated for a Grammy in 2026?
For an artist to receive a Grammy nod the following year, their work had to have been launched between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025. Subsequently, Taylor’s recently dropped album was ineligible for a nomination. The “Fate of Ophelia” performer was not ignored by the Recording Academy.
Taylor has previously addressed how demoralizing it can be when an artist doesn’t get recognition. In a 2015 discussion with Grammy Pro, as reported by E! News, the “Karma” singer shared how she coped with not securing the 2014 Album of the Year award.
“I went back to my place, shed some tears, and then treated myself to In-N-Out Burger to eat my feelings,” Taylor confessed, also mentioning that she chose not to attend any after-parties that year.
Nevertheless, she conceded that musicians “don’t create with the sole intention of racking up awards.”
“Still, you have to use something as a guide if you intend to keep evolving,” explained the artist behind “Fearless.” “You have several options when you’re passed over for an award. One option is to think, ‘They’ve made a mistake. The voting process was flawed.’ Another option is to storm the stage and snatch the microphone from the winner.’ The third option is to consider, ‘Perhaps they are justified. Maybe I didn’t create my best work. Possibly, I need to rectify the situation,’ which, for me, was admitting I haven’t been releasing musically coherent albums.”
How Many Grammy Awards Does Taylor Swift Have?
Taylor’s collection boasts 14 Grammy Awards, with over 50 nominations in total. At the 2024 Grammys, she etched her name in the history books by becoming the first artist to claim the Album of the Year honor four times, thanks to *Midnights’* release.
Taylor has a high chance of receiving at least one nomination at the 2027 Grammys.
