3 haircuts that all of London wants this winter

Making an appointment for a haircut often turns into an internal dialogue: you want a little bit of sass and carelessness, but at the same time — ultra-chic; to be cool, practical, relevant, but not too “trendy.” At some point, there is a temptation to cut everything to zero, although not everyone dares to go for a dramatic buzz cut.

Hair is a tricky subject, especially at the beginning of the year, when there's added pressure: winter is coming to an end, spring is coming, and with it comes the desire for change. That's why sometimes the best solution is to look at the options that the industry already offers. And where else can you look for inspiration than in London's coolest salons? The capital's leading hairdressers have shared which haircuts are currently at the peak of popularity.

Daisy Edgar-Jones-style bangs

This hairstyle is easy to recognise: long, slightly tousled hair with soft bangs that frame the face beautifully. “The most popular cut right now is the Daisy Edgar-Jones look,” says hairdresser Larry King, founder of the renowned Larry King salons in West London, which is renowned for its technical yet effortless cool-girl cuts.

He says the bangs are versatile: they can be worn natural or styled with volume for an old-school glamour effect that's making a comeback. “Whether it's a soft, natural look or a big blowout, this look remains the most popular,” King says. “We often see a more voluminous version, like Sabrina Carpenter's style. At the same time, bangs can easily be made sharper and more textured.”

Soft pixie

No list of the most relevant haircuts of 2026 would be complete without the curtain crop or soft pixie – a hairstyle that is literally everywhere now (and its final look largely depends on the styling of the bangs).
“It's a bit of a dandy look: longer top, shorter sides, with references to Sharon Stone, Robin Wright in House of Cards or Demi Moore in Ghost,” explains stylist George Northwood, the creator of Alexa Chung's iconic bob and Meghan Markle's signature messy bun.

The main advantage of this haircut is its combination of showiness and simplicity. “It's the kind of hairstyle that gets you stopped on the street and asked where you got it,” says Northwood. “At the same time, it's low-maintenance, versatile, and as effortless as possible, and it's all about the 'unfinished' hair.”

Chunky bob

It's the Paris, Texas bob. And yes, this bob is still one of the most popular. It's easy to adapt to any mood: from glamorous, like Zendaya in Prada, to more relaxed and casual, like Gigi Hadid.

“Bobs are still extremely relevant,” says hairstylist Luke Gersheson, who has worked with Keira Knightley, Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller. “They are united by massiveness, a slightly “chopped” shape and a slight imperfection. Like Nastassja Kinski in the film “Paris, Texas”: a dense, lively bob without excessive thinning, with a natural texture, which makes it truly modern.”
