Y2K Supermodel Styles Making a Comeback

Each of them has mastered the main runways across the globe with their own unique style. From Ani Rubik to Gisele Bündchen, from Daria Verbova to Isabella Fontana – we invite you to revisit the legendary looks of the 2000s supermodels, which are even more inspiring to us this autumn than usual.

Anya Rubik

Her somewhat androgynous allure and sharp silhouette, which seamlessly match the core pieces of any wardrobe, transformed Anya Rubik into a supermodel and style figure for numerous generations. As early as 2018, she foresaw the season’s key trend – the pairing of a dark overcoat, a delicate blouse, and fitted leather trousers. And this formula impeccably aligns with the autumn 2025 aesthetic: a “pirate” vibe infused with a touch of rebellious sophistication.

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bündchen's appearance from 2008 seems surprisingly current in this day and age. Slim jeans, biker boots, a leather bomber, a slender belt, and a light grey neck scarf are all making a recovery with the return of the Indie Sleaze trend. It's a style influenced by late-2000s alternative culture, which merges nonchalance, liberty, and a sense of big-city nightlife.

Freya Beha Eriksen

Vogue's favorite is Danish model Freya Beha Eriksen, who made her initial appearance on the catwalk at Prada's autumn-winter 2006/2007 show. She was instantly noticed by Karl Lagerfeld, who made her a staple at Chanel. Today, she continues to be the symbol of the 2000s era, and in 2022, the model once again graced the Saint Laurent runway. Her tomboyish, understated aesthetic is currently highly fashionable – minimalism with substance that you won't want to ignore.

Daria Verbova

With a penetrating stare and an athletic figure, Canadian-Ukrainian model Daria Verbova made a big splash in the fashion scene in the early 2000s, becoming the face of numerous high-profile brand campaigns. Back then, she also captured the essence of the Indie Sleaze style, donning low-rise skinny jeans, basic white tees, and a military-inspired jacket. Today, the style is undergoing a transformation, preserving a unique authenticity and self-assurance.

Isabeli Fontana

The Brazilian, Isabeli Fontana, launched her career at the age of 13 with a Victoria's Secret advert, and in a few years became the face of Dolce & Gabbana and L'Oréal. Her style outside of the catwalk is rock-n-roll and relaxed. In 2016, as an illustration, she captured the attention of photographers in an ensemble with an unbuttoned shirt and leather leggings.

Doutzen Kroes

With eyes mirroring the azure of a blue lagoon and an ideal figure, Dutch model Doutzen Kroes evolved into one of the primary muses of the noughties. Her style embodies the subtle sophistication that Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy once demonstrated. For her, the perfect outfit involves straight-leg jeans, a cashmere pullover, and a long wool coat. Absent of adornments, without fancy elements – simply perfect clarity.
